Oregon Volcanos

Jen and I did quite a bit of touristy stiff while traveling through Oregon. Most of it somehow revolved around volcanos. We checked out a the Lava River Cave (totally worth it), as well as the Lava Butte Overlook (also worth it), and made our way up to the Timberline Lodge at Mt Hood.

Some of Hood was exactly as I remember it about 25 years ago as the sight of my first alpine climb ever. Other parts were much different. But one thing is for sure, the spirit of getting out into the mountains and having an adventure is still alive and well up here, as the parking lot was packed full with people spring skiing in shorts and coming down from a quick summit lap.

This was just a pull out on a highway somewhere which was too cool to pass up.
