Moab From The Air

Sometimes things just really go your way, like when you stay at a friend’s house in Moab who just happens to also be a pilot and also happens to have a couple free seats available on a flight. Our friend Barb has been flying out of Moab for the last couple years, and we were definitely not passing up a chance to see this place from the air.

We left the airport North of town in a small Cessna and flew over Canyonlands including the White Rim and the Maze, all the way down to Indian Creek, and over Arches on the way back. I’ve been all over this part of the state on various climbing trips, but seeing it from the air was mind blowing. It got me really excited to spend more time down here when we’re back in Utah for good (and have access to a long-travel truck).
