Givin’ ‘er’

I love watching people have a breakthrough, at any level. Seeing someone lead their first 5.8 is in many ways just as impressive as watching someone lead their first 5.13. Over the last couple seasons, Jen’s mountain biking has been getting better and better, to the point where all of her technical skills were there, and it was just her confidence that was keeping her from riding the things that she didn’t ride. A couple seasons ago, she had a breakout day at Whistler where she rode at least a dozen new technical lines that she had previously felt were impossible for her, but she’s had a hard time translating that new-found confidence to her trail bike.

During this long weekend in Moab, Jen had a major breakthrough and cleaned countless technical lines that she had always walked in the past. It was awesome to watch. At the end of the weekend, Jen even hit the double-drop on Porcupine where she almost knocked herself out on our first mountain biking date. All in all, it was one of her best days of riding and a great thing to be a part of. Oh yeah, and Jasmine wore dog booties, which was just about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen…
