And just like that, it’s fall. Temperatures in the desert went from way too hot to comfortably chilly in a matter of days, and then it snowed in the La Sal Mountains above Moab. Things dried out over the week, so when Jen and I got down there on Friday night, it was perfect.
We did some laps on Ahab and the Brand Trails to make sure Murphy got in enough running to not go crazy, and then we saddled up and went to Porcupine on Sunday. This may be the first time I’ve ever ridden this entire trail without taking off my light jacket. The rain from the last week made the dirt absolutely perfect, so I could feel like a bad-ass while railing corners through the juniper trees. And, as always, the final section down Jackass Canyon had me giggling to myself with every feature I blasted through. What a great trail.
