Bikes and Hoodoos

It’s a pretty rare event when I get to ride a trail in Utah that I haven’t been on or even heard of. But Thunder Mountain was exactly that. Our three-day weekend had a little bit of messing around at the bookends, but it was the ride on Sunday that really made us stoked to live in a state where you can completely change the landscape by driving for a short length of time in any direction.

The best description I can think of for Thunder Mountain is that it’s like riding the Wasatch Crest Trail through Bryce National Park. All in all, I really could not have asked for anything more. I could have asked for a little less though. The nine miles of uphill pedaling back to the car (if you forgo the shuttle) was a little rough, but it was absolutely worth it.
